One has not been defeated in the last 32 matches and the other is unbeatable from 12 matches. One easily defeated the world’s number one team in the last match, while the other had to play a shootout to win. Title contenders Italy and Spain will now face each other for a place in the title clash at the European Football Championship.

The two will be facing each other for the fourth time in a row at the European Championships and this time the claim is to make the final. The match will be played at London's Wembley Stadium on Tuesday.

Italy beat top-ranked Belgium 2-1 in Munich while Spain beat Switzerland in a penalty shootout in St Petersburg. The Italian team is unbeaten for the last 32 matches while Spain has also shown a strong performance during this period and has won 12 matches in a row. On the other hand, if we talk about scoring the most goals in the tournament, Spain has scored 12 goals while Italy is in second place with 11 goals.

The last match between the two was in the 2018 World Cup qualifying round. Italy could not qualify for the World Cup for the second time in history after losing a match and a draw against Spain. The last time either team reached the final was in 2012 when Spain defeated Italy 4–0 to win the Euro Cup title.

The players who played in that match are midfielder Sergio Basketes in Spain's team, while defenders Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini are present in Italy's team. Italy had prevented Spain from winning the title for the third time in a row by defeating Spain in the last 16 matches of Euro 2016. Spain defeated Italy in the Euro 2008 quarter-finals.

Spain coach Louis Enrique played for the country in the 1994 World Cup when Italian defender Mauro Tasotti broke his nose in the quarter-finals. Italy reached the final of that tournament but lost to Brazil. Italian coach Roberto Mancini did not play in the 1994 World Cup. He returned with the national team in 2018 as a coach.
